Varinia Canto Vila (CL/BE): Attention.App

In september ’14 she started the first fase of research for Attention.App at BUDA arts centre.-, that she’ll now devellop in collaboration with the French dancer-choreographer Jonas Chéreau. He studied dance at CNDC in Angers and took part in the DanceWeb (Impulstanz festival in Vienna), directed by Philipp Gehmacher and Christine de Smedt. As a dancer he performed for a.o. Boris Charmatz, Daniel Larrieu, Laure Bonicel, Lilia Mestre and Sara Manente. Since 2011, he also has produced his own choreographic works in collaboration with Madeleine Fournier. In april ’15 they worked at BUDA for the creation of Sous-titre, that had its première during NEXT festival in Espace Pasolini (Valenciennes) and was presented afterwards in a.o. Paris, Vanves and Nantes.

Attention.app is an attempt to consider collage as a compositional tool, by Variana & Jonas translated it into the space of the theatre. An attempt to reconsider collage as a figure of the global, in which narratives and ideologies appear different and incommensurable.  A celebration of our mess and our failure to make sense.

During their stay at BUDA, Jonas and Varinia will try to find ways of physicalizing collage and see how it resonates with the space.
