Mette Ingvartsen (DK/BE)

Mette Ingvartsen is a Danish-Brussels choreographer and dancer. From 1999 she studied in Amsterdam and Brussels where she in 2004 graduated from the performing arts school P.A.R.T.S. Since 2002 she’s creating a oeuvre of choreographies, performances and ‘living installations' that – at the same time – are conceptual and very physical.

In 2011 she created All the Way Out There at BUDA, a ‘performance of extremes’ in collaboration with Guillem Mont de Palol. A year later The Artificial Nature Project opened NEXT festival 2012 as an impressive 'choreography for gold flakes'. In March 2014 she presented The Red Archive, a guiding tour through her personal archive of sexual references during Buda Visata #4. This research lead to 69 positions. In 2015 she created 7 pleasures, in 2017 To come (extended) and 21 Pornographies and in 2019 Moving in Concert. All of these performances were shown at NEXT.

Mette Ingvartsen (DK): Moving in Concert

Moving in Concert imagines a universe where humans, technologies and natural materials coexist to create an abstract set of movement. Inspired by how bodies are sensorially affected by living in a digitalized world, the performance explores a poetics of plasticity, abstraction and imagination.
