Ieva Misevičiūtė (US): Tongue PhD
For the first time she is in residency at arts centre BUDA now. During three weeks, she’ll work in Budascoop on Tongue PhD, a solo performance playfully exploring the concept of the Tongue. The piece fuses elements of stand-up, dance and Butoh that are structured in the format of a PhD dissertation. The tongue is both the bridge to madness and intelligence; something that bares the memory of an animal, the instinctual, but also is the main tool with which we express our humanness. Tongue PhD asks the question of where and how do we look for new knowledge these days?
