Aleksander Georgiev & Dragana Zarevska (MK): Madness runs in the family
Due to the collaboration of Lokomotiva (Centre for New Initiatives in Art & Culture, Skopje) with the European network APAP (Advancing Performing Arts Project), they now can work for the first time at arts centre BUDA in Kortrijk.
They’ll work on Madness runs in the family, a performance on the topic of family love, constellations and complications, inspired by Georgiev’s own performances with his mother and father in the past years. They focus on the tension between the performers drive to perform, and his/her family’s disinterest or ignorance about it; “too boring, too intellectual, too distant, and too easy to be ‘a real job’!”
Aleksandar & Dragana suggest every performer should collaborate with family members. Or, like Shaw once said: “If you cannot get rid of your family skeleton, you should at least make it dance!”
