Observing, registering, meditating and philo-sophising. Becoming Animal is an audio-visual exploration into the relationship between people and nature. Together with philosopher David Abram, filmmakers Peter Mettler and Emma Davie explore nature and reflect on what it would mean for humans to “be an animal” in an animal’s body. A voiceover leads spectators through the magical splendour of nature, a voyage that culminates in a visual crescendo. The camera immerses the viewer in the experience of being an animal, against a backdrop of grandiose natural surroundings. The viewer’s inner animal is awakened, allowing them to become one with the environment.
