Mette Edvardsen (NO/BE)
Norwegian choreographer-dancer Mette Edvardsen (°1970) lives and works in Brussels. Her work is situated within the performing arts field, also exploring other media or other formats such as video and books. She has worked for several years as a dancer and performer in pieces by a.o. Christine de Smedt, Thomas Hauert, Mårten Spångberg, Lynda Gaudreau and Heine R. Avdal and created two pieces in collaboration with Lilia Mestre. Since 2002 Mette produces her own work, inclusing the trilogy Black (2011), No Title (2014, presented during NEXT festival), WE TO BE (2015, made@BUDA and presented during Buda Vista) – in which she explored the possibilities and limits of language in both real and imagined space. Edvardsen looked at what is not there in order to set thoughts and fantasies in motion.
At the BUDA-studio’s, she’ll work on her new solo – and anagram - oslo, Edvardsen once again plays with language, time and space. She extends the concept of the solo into the entire theatre space, where thoughts, words, things and actions multiply.
For Oslo, Mette collaborates with Mari Matre Larsen and lichtdesigner Bruno Pocheron. Oslo will be presented October ’17 in Budascoop in the frame of Buda Vista #11.
