Dmitry Vilenksy /Chto Delat (RU)

The Russian artist and educator Dmitry Vilensky (°64) lives in St. Petersburg. In 2003 he initiated "Chto Delat/What is to be done?" (www.chtodelat.org), a platform that works between the notions ‘political theory’, ‘art’ and ‘activism’.

Dmitry mostly works in the frame of interdisciplinary collective practices with different media such as video, photography, text, installations and social interactions. He is a commissar  and chief tutor of the School for Engaged Art in Petersburg and a renowned guest teacher in several institutions in Frankfurt am Main, Malmo; Budapest; Copenhagen, London and many others.

Dmitry comes to Kortrijk to see how to set up Kortrijk Congé, a one day festival that changes concept every year. The 2015-edition (11.07.15) will focus on notions such as ‘parade’, ‘future’, ‘protest’ and ‘monument’. Chto Delat will be in the lead of Kortrijk Congé 2015 and will be working in Kortrijk as a collective from end of June till 12th of July.
