Clara Amaral (PT/NL)

Clara Amaral studied choreography at the SNDO in Amsterdam and is currently doing a MA at the Dutch Art Institute, Arnhem. In her artistic practice, Clara Amaral is invested in exploring the relation between imagination, language and dance. Her most recent work “Do you remember that time we were together and danced this or that dance?” is an immaterial publication that was learned by heart by Loïc Perela and Clara herself and transmitted in one on one sessions (one performer, one audience member) with the duration of 30 minutes. With this work Clara was interested in inscribing Dance in close proximity with notions of fantasy, fiction and speculation.

In her upcoming work I am the forest and you, you are the grassland; I am the forest and you, you are the grassland Clara Amaral will be working on a lecture performance. In her residency at BUDA she will be mostly dealing with her writing practice that will feed into
the lecture performance.
